Craig y Parc is one of the only specialist schools in the UK dedicated to providing education, therapy and care for children and young people aged 3-19 with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).
The school is well equipped, expertly staffed and teaching takes place in small, well staffed class groups, led by a teacher and supported by learning support. We place particular emphasis on the development of a stimulating, multi-sensory environment which encourages more awareness of visual, auditory and tactile experiences. This approach opens the door to new learning using all your senses to access the curriculum and to make learning fun.
Specialist equipment and facilities:
We have a wide variety of onsite facilities that include:
- Hydrotherapy pool
- Multisensory room
- Rebound therapy room
- Assistive technology hub
- Accessible woodland trail
- Music and Aromatherapy Room
- Nurses station
Outdoor learning opportunities:
Our school benefits from over 33 acres of woodland which includes a large accessible tiered garden at the rear of the main school. We have many adapted areas, which include an activity area with adapted play equipment and a sensory garden.
There is also an organic kitchen allotment where we develop a wide range of environmental and horticultural based learning with raised accessible planters and a greenhouse.
